Somma is an Italian fine dining restaurant and pasta bar, with a distinctive, minimal but tactile interior that complements the striking original architecture, with its eight-metre vaulted ceilings. We have created a space that feels both comfortable and refined. It has the intimacy of a private palazzo and the drama of a fine dining restaurant.
The restaurant features classic materials like travertine and grey marble, while the pasta bar introduces red travertine and peach linen upholstery, evoking a livelier, more informal setting for parties. The 14-metre bar seats 18 and houses a cocktail bar, pasta station and a DJ booth.
A key feature is the tiled wall in the main restaurant. We commissioned 230 handmade tiles from Puglian ceramic artist Vincenzo Del Monaco, to create the signature wall that acts as a backdrop the dining room. Fondazione Le Costantine created the rugs throughout and the private dining room features a vintage Puglian pine table sourced from a monastery. The patterned sheer curtains evoke the rugged landscape of the region and are a subtle nod to traditional Apuglian lace workshops.
